Mississauga Cycling Master Plan
CAA Bike Assist
Biking has always been a popular recreational activity and has been gaining popularity as a commuting option for individuals traveling to and from work. To support the growing trend, CAA has introduced its “Bike Assist” roadside assistance service to all CAA members with no additional cost.
If you run into a problem that cannot be fixed on the spot, CAA will transport you and your bicycle to wherever you need to go. It’s available to CAA members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Bike & Ride
Bike racks are available on all Mississauga Transit & Brampton Transit buses. Each rack can hold two conventional bicycles with wheels that are at least 16 inches (41 cm) in diameter. No additional fare is required. Customers are responsible for placing bike on rack.
Bike-share programs offer a community of users a pool of bikes to borrow and return on a daily basis. There are at least two bike-share programs currently operating in the City of Mississauga. The University of Toronto at Mississauga has a student bike share program and the City of Mississauga operates a bike share program at the civic centre for city employees.
Students can go online to see the inventory of bikes available through the UTM Bike-Share Program or to sign-out a bike for the day.
City of Mississauga employees can book a free bike from the gym on the fourth floor of the civic centre. For $5 a year, city employees who cycle to work can also use the shower facilities at the Civic Centre gym.
