Commuter Hall of Fame #3 – Michelle, RBC Top Transit Commuter

commuter hall of fame_michelle Michelle, at Royal Bank of Canada’s York Mills location has been named to our Smart Commuter Hall of Fame in recognition of her All-Star level transit usage in 2015 . Here she this past Smart Commute Week is telling us why taking public transit makes the most sense for her.Michelle stats How long have you been taking transit for?

I’ve been taking public transit for about 8 years now.

What made you switch to public transit from your previous mode of transportation?

I use to drive when I lived in a small town, but when I moved to Toronto it just didn’t make sense to drive anymore.  Taking public transit does make sense.

What is your favourite part of your commute?

I love that taking public transit allows me more time to read.  I almost read a book a week now ever since I started taking transit.

What would you say to someone who is considering taking transit?

Enjoy the ride.

What do you think is the biggest misconception about public transit?

That everyday there is going to be a problem that causes a delay.  Although there are some days with delay, the transit system here in Toronto are quick to fix the problems and get people moving.
