Emergency Ride Home is a program that helps commuters ‘smart commute’ to work while enabling them to rest assured they have a way to get home in urgent circumstances.
Emergency Ride Home is a type of ‘commuter insurance’ – a service that is offered to participating Smart Commute member and partner employers.
If an urgent situation comes up unexpectedly during the course of the workday, registered employees who regularly carpool, vanpool, take transit, walk or cycle to work can be eligible for a free transit, taxi or car rental ride home.
Emergency Ride Home on-line is the web-based registration system for Smart Commute’s Emergency Ride Home program. The site is only accessible to eligible employees of Smart Commute member and partner employers in the Greater Toronto Area and Hamilton.
