Colliers International’s Nomination Information

As Canada’s leading commercial real estate services provider and the first major real estate services company in Canada to measure and publish its carbon footprint, Colliers International is committed to the efficient operations of the buildings it manages. With environmental sustainability a top organizational priority, Colliers strives to reduce its ecological footprint while encouraging its employees, customers and partners to do the same.

“Smart Commute Mississauga has provided and continues to provide invaluable support to our community at the Mississauga Executive Centre since 2006. Their annual campaigns and events are integral to our tenant engagement and awareness program which enables us to remain a leader in providing Green and Sustainable programs and solutions to our clients/tenants in a ‘suburban’ setting.

As sustainable transportation solutions are becoming more apparent and the publics’ awareness and knowledge of alternative transport is increasing, businesses and organizations are expected to have ‘Green’ programs in place. For example, the Smart Commute team provided unsurmountable support during our CycleLoan launch in June 2014, which today holds an impressive 128 registrants enrolled in the program.

We feel extremely fortunate to be partnered with Smart Commute Mississauga and look forward to new, exciting achievements to come!”

Congratulations to IMAX Corporation for it’s Honourable Mention at this year’s Smart Commute Awards.

IMAX Corporation’s Nomination Information

Since joining the Smart Commute program in March 2015, IMAX Corporation has implemented a range of initiatives to generate awareness about commuting options at their Mississauga location (located in the Sheridan Business Park). These include designated carpool parking, launching the Smart Commute tool and creating dedicated space for Smart Commute specific information.

As part of its commitment to environmental initiatives and the well-being of its employees, IMAX Corporation launched the CycleLoan bike fleet program at their worksite, providing employees with free access to bicycles during business hours.

“Since joining Smart Commute Mississauga in 2015, the messages and programs have become a welcome part of the culture in our workplace. The Smart Commute program helps to promote our support of alternative modes of transportation and has relieved some of the pressure on our parking lot. The reduced impact on the infrastructure connecting us to the communities, from which our employees commute, inspires us to continue our efforts. The programs also promote engagement among our employees. I look forward to seeing the participation continuing to grow.”
