Celebrate Bike Month by participating in either Bike to Work Day or Bike to School Week – or both! Bike Month is celebrated from May 29 to June 30, 2017 and is your chance to try this healthy and sustainable commuting option. Regions from across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area are gearing up for fabulous month of biking.
Many of our daily trips are well within cycling distance (0-5km). Trips taken by bike save you the cost of transit, gas, parking, have zero impact on air quality and burn calories with every pedal forward.
Bike to Work Day: May 29, 2017
Heading into work and want to give cycling a chance? Take part in Bike to Work Day happening May 29. Find a local event and ride together with your community and colleagues to work. Local events are happening all across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area – find yours by visiting BikeMonth.ca.
Can’t cycle the whole trip? Try a mix-and-match approach, combining bikes and transit. All GO Transit buses are equipped with bike racks and most stations have bike shelters on site, discover the facilities at your stop and learn more about cycling to GO.
New to biking? Check out our Cycling Tips, Resources for Cycling to Work or download Cycle Toronto’s Toronto Cyclist’s Handbook, which includes safety tips, road etiquette and more. Also, you can rent your ride for those in Toronto (Bike Share Toronto) or Hamilton (SoBi).
