The results are in: a Gold Medal win for Ontario!

In the summer of 2015, Ontario hosted the largest international multi-sport event in Canada’s history. With a total medal count of 385 for Team Canada, the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games were a huge success not only for our athletes, but also for our region.

With more than one million people attending celebrations of art, sport, culture and food throughout the Greater Golden Horseshoe Area, the Games provided an opportunity to showcase Ontario to an international audience. 23,000 volunteers welcomed 7,100 athletes and officials from 41 countries and territories, as well as nearly 250,000 visitors from around the world.

By staying informed, planning early on, and supporting alternative travel, more than 335 Smart Commute member workplaces plus more than 200 additional businesses in the region were able to keep their businesses and the region moving.
